510 Wiring Diagrams

Basic Wiring Diagrams
Wiring diagrams for our beloved 510s are available from a few sources. Original black and white diagrams can be found in the Haynes manual, the factory Body manuals (available on CD) and in the 510 handbook originally included in our cars.

Color-coded Wiring Diagrams
Kelvin Dietz color-code wiring diagramIn the late ninties 510 enthusiast Kelvin Dietz crafted up a color-coded wiring diagram. It was tailored specifically for the 1971 two-door with a manual transmission and was based on his years of experience rebuilding wiring harnesses.

Later on 510 owner Paolo Musante took it one step further and created color coded wiring diagrams tailored for various years, body-styles and transmissions. The diagrams are a work of art and are an indispensible resource for every 510 owner. The diagrams include connector pin-outs, resistances, bulb wattages, accessorie tie-in points for tach, clock, wiper delay, and more. On the other side of the diagram Paolo has included general information like overal dimensions, weights, gearcharts, fluid capacities tune-up specs, etc.

Information on ordering the diagrams can be found in the Misc For Sale section of the classifieds.

Simplified Start / Charge wiring diagrams

While the full wiring diagrams are an indispensible tool they can still be a bit confusing to follow when you're trying to sort out issues. The following simplified wiring diagrams were created by Bill Fant in order to isolate the specific problem areas.

(These diagrams have been provided for private use only, please don't duplicate, sell, etc.)
