"Frank & Ernest" cartoon
Here's a car that's built like a brick wall. Owner Marty Homan, 25, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, covered the side and door panels with Z-Brick, an artificial brick siding made of plaster and plastic. Homan, who has a degree in art, figured it would be a perfect way to resurface his rusting 1971 Datsun. "My next project", he says, "will be to put shingles on top of the car to complete that homey look". From an old National Enquirer

Steve Gomas, Danville, drinks a toast to a departed friend, his rented-out Datsun 510. Driving student Eddie Ishizaki, San Francisco, lost control of the car exiting Sears Point's Turn 5 on February 23, angled 45 degrees to the right, skidded up a slight incline, and found this pond. It's only 510 deep. Fortunately, Ishizaki escaped without injury and returned in another car to commplete his license requirements on March 9. On February 28, the sunken Datsun was fished out of the pond and Gomas has removed the water, replaced the wiring harness, and expects it to race again, soon.
